Chief of Staff

Dr. Tsibel received his doctoral degree from the Tashkent School of Dentistry with a 4.0 GPA and honors in 1976. He then pursued his Ph.D in 1982 in Prosthodontics with an emphasis in oral surgery, and graduated with a 4.0 GPA with honors. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society.

I don’t have to force myself to come to work each and every morning because I genuinely enjoy what I do. Undoubtedly, it’s easier to achieve a certain level of success when it is based upon a profound interest in your occupation. It is this interest in the devotion to my profession that motivates me to continuously advance my skills. I strive to polish my patient interaction skills and my theoretical and practical knowledge of dentistry. I must admit that if I did not receive the current degree of satisfaction from my practice, I would explore my passion for teaching. While I have pursued the latest advancements in dentistry, I have simultaneously shared my discoveries with colleagues. It has taken years to reach my present understanding of implantology and laser dentistry. The next best thing to witnessing the satisfaction and amazing results of my patients is the transfer of information to other dentists. While I realize that I will always have more to learn and an everlasting thirst for new knowledge, it is a privilege and an honor to be respected by my colleagues. At the end of a long and often stressful day, while driving home to my family, I know that my techniques and expertise have improved the quality of life of others. The improvement may be as subtle as a prettier smile that lends itself to increased self-confidence. The change in a patient’s life may be as significant as the ability to chew, increased appetite, decreased pain, or the ability to communicate more effectively. Periodontist

Dennis Hunt, D.D.S. is a board eligible Periodontist committed to research for the advancement of Periodontics. In 1997, Dr. Hunt graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles and UCLA graduate Periodontal Residency Certificate Program with a Masters Degree in Oral Biology. Dr. Hunt’s activity in research has produced five published papers in professional journals. His research interest is primarily centered on Alveolar Bone Reconstruction. Dr. Hunt is a part-time faculty member at UCLA Department of Oral Biology. He has lectured at UCLA and worldwide. Dr. Hunt has recently won Best Research Lecture award at the Academy of Osseointegration held in Toronto, Canada. Other work has included 1997’s World-Wide Web at UCLA Periodontics Center author of Antibiotic Use in Periodontics. Dr. Hunt’s hobbies are tennis, golf, and world travel.

Endodontist

Dr. Khalil graduated from California State Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1992. He attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and graduated in 1996 with a D.D.S. degree. He continued at U.S.C. with his Specialty Degree in Advanced Endodontics in 1998.

He served as an instructor at U.S.C. from 1996 to 1999 and was appointed as the endodontist for the U.S.C. Faculty Practice. He was the recipient of the American Association of Endodontists National Achievement Award in 1998.

Dr. Khalil’s special interests include telling jokes, camping, cars, and rough housing with his three children. He has practiced throughout Southern California and has expressed his admiration for our facility and the hard working team that makes it run so well.

Orthodontist

Dr. Bahar Movahed was born in Tehran, Iran and has been practicing dentistry since 2003. What she enjoys most about her work is treating patients from all ethnicities, working with a professional team of specialists, and having a great interdiciplinary collaboration.

She is a board certified orthodontist, having went to dental school in her home country of Iran. In 2010, she immigrated to the United States to continue her education and pursue a new direction in her professional life.

Her achievements include: Doctor of Dental Surgery from Tehran Azad Univeristy, School of Dentistry, Tehran, Iran in 2003; Second DDS degree from the University of California, San Fransisco in 2015; and Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, A. T. Still University in 2017.

Alongside her education and work experience as a dentist and orthdontist, she has been following two different fields of art professionally, music and caricature. She has received international awards for her caricatures, and as a musician, she has had multiple performances of traditional Persian music across the US.

Orthodontist

Dr. Bendezu has been working in dentistry for 20 years. He graduated from Cayetano Heredia University in 2002 and La Salle University in 2017.

Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and listening to music. He loves spending time with his family.

Oral Surgeon

Dr. Patam graduated from UCLA Dental School in 1995 and from UCLA Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2003. She chose the field of dentistry because she found a purpose in treating and preventing oral disease.

What she enjoys most about working at Bellflower Dental Group is the awesome front and back office staff. Everyone is certified, efficient, and has excellent patient management.

In her free time she loves watching her daughters play soccer, taking care of her pets, and being a homemaker. She enjoys going on hikes and visiting the beach.

Prosthodontist

Dr. Sami attended Almustansiriya University College of Dentistry and graduated in 2006. After moving to California in 2009 he continued his education and obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Then he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and practiced general dentistry before he returned to NYU College of Dentistry to pursue 3 years of extensive restorative and reconstructive training in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics where he was the chief resident.

he enjoys the most about working is the ability to transform patients’ smiles and oral health. Collaborating with different general dentists and dental specialists to provide the best multi-disciplinary and comprehensive dental care for his patients under one roof. On his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their precious daughter.

General Dentist

Dr. Wesley Josephs graduated from USC in 1973 as a dentist. Dr. Josephs always enjoyed working with his hands and people so he felt that becoming a dentist was a perfect fit for him. He still loves being a dentist tremendously because he enjoys finding a common interest with each patient he sees everyday. Dr. Josephs enjoys reading, kayaking, and playing with his grandson!

New Patient Coordinator

Carmen graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1989 and Bremen College as a Dental Assistant in 1998. She chose dentistry so she could help people and educate them on oral health.

Carmen has been in the dental field since August of 1998. Meeting new people, educating them on dental health, working with employees, making long term relationships, and learning something new every day are the things she most enjoys about her work.

In her free time, Carmen enjoys spending time with her lovely family. They love to be out and about going to the mountains, beach, and Disneyland. She also loves to have time to herself going to the gym.

Treatment Coordinator Lead

Veronica was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She graduated from Bellflower High School in 2009. She chose the dental field after doing an ROP internship at this office and has been with us ever since. In her 13 years of work in dentistry, she has done front desk, call center, and treatment coordination.

What she enjoys most about working here is helping patients get the beautiful smiles they want, ensuring we can get our patients out of pain if they happen to be in pain, and building long lasting relationships with our patients.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her baby, sleeping (haha), watching movies, and hiking.
